Sad old people

For the most part, working on geriatrics has been fun. The patients are usually very nice and appreciative of your help and their families are the same (again, usually). I'm at the rehab unit right now and it's hilarious watching 88 year olds on exercise machines, or doing laps around the unit with their walkers.

However, there's some not-so-nice elderly folk, whose sole purpose is to ruin your day. Just like the old lady who yelled at me for saying "Uh-huh" instead of "Yes". Or the 96-year old miserable woman with hyponatremia and C. diff diarrhea yelling, "Nurse!....NURSE!!!" every 10 seconds for 5 minutes straight.

Resident scut

Last night, another holiday spent on call....

"Can you come and look at this guy's penis? It looks kind of black". Yes, this guy has a necrotic foot and apparently knocked off part of his foreskin too. SUCKS to be him.

Weirdest emerg visit reason from yesterday: "Patient c/o feeling vague"
